This Chi Rho pyx is made from solid brass. As there is no gold-plate covering on the container, it is best used by priests, deacons or ministers for carrying unconsecrated host. The lid is hinged to the box and opens via a metal button. On top of the lid, a pewter Chi Ro is attached, signifying the first two letters of the Greek name of Jesus.
