This beautiful reproduction of the San Damiano Crucifix includes all the intricate detailing of the original in Santa Chiara Basilica in Assisi, as well as images included upon the restoration of the art.  The San Damiano is rich with meaning.  Of note, the light colors used to portray Christ stand out against the dark colors behind Him, a reminder of Christ as Light of the World.  Angels, saints, witnesses and the Hand of God all carry special meaning.  The reproduction is mounted on durable fiberboard, making it light in weight.  The Crucifix measures 20-1/4 inches by  27-1/2 inches and is one of our Italian imports.  This item is available in two more sizes.

    Fantastic Crucifix!

    I just received this 27" San Damiano crucifix in the mail today and was very pleased with it when I opened the box (which was carefully packaged by the way). The pictures that are posted don't do it justice. The detail is incredible and the gold colored trim is very intricate. The image is rendered authentically as the original icon has been damaged. Those flaws (angles not being square, figures on the bottom missing, etc) are maintained in this reproduction. It is also very light weight (especially considering its size) which makes hanging it easy. This item has been my first order from F.C. Ziegler Co and I'm very pleased. I will make it a point to look here for future needs.
