The medallions depict Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane, His Lashing, His Crowning with Thorns, Christ Carrying the Cross, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection. The scenes are surrounded by rich metalwork and the inscription on the cup reads "Calicem Salutaris Accipiam Et Nomen Domini Invocabo", which translates to, "I will take the saving cup and call on the name of the Lord".
The Passion of Christ chalice stands 8-3/4 inches tall with a cup diameter of 4-1/8 inches. The liquid capacity is ten ounces.
