Interestingly enough, Leila Miller and Trent Horn do not begin with the Bible or Church teaching in their book, Made This Way.  They begin with natural law and seamlessly lead us to communicating the right way to live as rooted in the way we are made; God's design for human nature.  Contemporary parenting presents challenges that were almost non-existent just a generation ago.  Transgenderism?  Same-sex marriage?  Pornography?  Those few words alone carry a wallop.  In Made This Way, Miller and Horn offer parents a life-line via ten subjects.

Made This Way begins with  of the task we are given of getting kids to heaven.   Next comes a frank discussion of natural law; its origination with God, what it is, what it is not and its benefits.  The following ten chapters provide some excellent background information and inspiration for Mom and Dad, advice for little kids, and advice for big kids.  Topics covered include Living Together Outside of Marriage, Same-Sex Marriage, Divorce, Contraception, Abortion, Reproductive Technologies, Modesty, Pornography, Transgenderism, and Homosexuality.

Miller and Horn point out that parents cannot remain silent on these subjects, noting that remaining silent means the world will teach them.  A short look at those teachings reveals a culture with a shattered moral center.  Our only choice is to equip our kids with the truth.  Grab a copy of this book and dig in.  It's time.
