Ecce lignum crucis in quo salus mundi.  The Latin words are inscribed on the renaissance style cross of this Crucifix.  The phrase means, "This is the wood of the cross on which hung the Saviour of the world" and can be found at the end of the Way of the Cross.  This small Crucifix is made of silver oxidized metal and measures 1-1/2 inches high.

A Beautiful Crucifix that Needs to Be Made of Stainless Steel or Silver

Posted by IVAN EDGAR PRATT on 8th Dec 2016

F.C. Ziegler, I once saw a renaissance cross like this one in the Cloister Museum in New York City, it was very large and of course priceless. I love this cross that Ziegler sent me, I just wish it was made of stainless steel or silver. I think what I like about this cross is its utter simplicity, it doesn’t have all the rococo artistically that other crucifix have, but it does utterly say Jesus Christ in that context of conviction which pleases me very much.
