Jesus celebrates the Last supper on the cover of this pyx. The pyx is made of brass and gold-plate in 24-karat gold, with the exception of the Last Supper medallion, where the brass is oxidized. The gold plating on the pyx ensures that the Blessed Sacrament touch precious materials, in keeping with the high standards of the Catholic Church. The hinged lid secures via a metal clasp. Additionally, a metal loop provides a place for a cord, should the piest, deacon or extraordinary minister of Holy Communion wish to attach a loop The pyx measures two inches by 5/8 inches and will hold up to six 1-3/8 inch hosts.
