The Lamb of Peace rests atop the lid of this pyx. The pyx is made of brass and the Lamb of Peace image is oxidized and textured. The remainder of the pyx has a 24-karat gold plate finish. The gold plate finish ensures that the Blessed sacrament touches only precious materials, in keeping with the standards of the Catholic Church. Measuring two inches in diameter and 5/8 inches deep, the pyx will hold up to six 1-3/8 inch hosts. The hinged lid attaches via a metal clasp with no moving parts, making it long-lasting and durable. A metal loop is attached so that a priest, deacon or extraordinary minister of Holy Communion can add a cord if desired. This pyx is made in Italy.
