The Chi Rho symbol is flanked by the Alpha and Omega, creating a striking reminder of Christ as the beginning and end on this pyx. The lid is inlaid with a glazed, red accent. The pyx is made of brass that is gold-plated inside and out with 24-karat gold. The plating is in keeping with the standards of canon law and ensures that the Blessed Sacrament will touch only precious materials. The pyx is also outfitted with a hinged lid and durable metal clasp. An attached loop will accommodate a neck cord if desired. The pyx measures two inches in diameter and one half inch deep, allowing for up to six 1-3/8 inch hosts. This pyx is made in Italy.
