Saint Andrew Kim Taegon was the first native Korean Catholic priest and a courageous witness to the faith during a time of intense persecution in Korea.
Born into a family of martyrs, Andrew secretly traveled to China to study for the priesthood before returning to Korea to evangelize and minister to persecuted Catholics. Despite the danger, he remained faithful to Christ and was executed for his faith at just twenty-five years old.
His courage, missionary spirit, and unwavering devotion continue to inspire Catholics around the world.
