Saint Francis had a special devotion to this interesting cross, called the tau cross. Its T shape is like that of the Hebrew Omega, significant in the Old Testament ,as well as being similar to the familiar shape of a cross. This Tau cross from Italy is made of olive wood. It measures 1-1/2 inches and comes on a cord.
