This study edition of the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults includes the full texts of the rite: introductions, National Statutes, ritual texts, chants, and appendixes. Printed in the same dimensions as the ritual edition, this paperback version of the rite is durable and flexible for ongoing personal study, coursework, reference, and liturgical preparation.

As a study and preparation tool, this resource is essential for priests, deacons, undergraduate and graduate theology, liturgy and ministry students, catechists, Christian initiation team members, and those who prepare the liturgy. Margin lines and ritual outlines are provided as a visual tool for recording notes and observations and for referencing the parts of the liturgical rites.

The new translation may begin to be used on the First Sunday of Advent, December 1, 2024. The mandatory use date is Ash Wednesday, March 5, 2025. This title will become available on November 1st, 2024, and is available for pre-order.

    OCIA Study Guide

Posted by Erik O. on 13th Nov 2025

This book is valuable to people curious about OCIA or what a small part of OCIA looks like. This would help lay persons who lead OCIA for their parish and this takes a lot of the guess work out of some of the Rites and such for a better understanding about what a “Scrutiny” is and what priveleges you have as a “Cathemumenate” in the Catholic Church.
A lot of parishes starting out as a Quasi- parish or brand new as well as smaller parishes will find this helpful for everyone.
Plus this is 100% a couple years new from the Conference of Bishops. It comes with footnotes for documents it sources within the book as well which also is invaluable as a great reference after OCIA.
