Saint Peregrine Laziosi was born into a family that supported an anti-papal faction. When Peregrine came to understand the Christian values of kindness and forgiveness, he joined the Servites in Siena, going on to become a priest. The reason he is shown with a bandaged leg is because he developed an infection that would have required amputation. Peregrine prayed and his leg was miraculously healed. Peregrine is now the patron saint of people suffering from cancer, AIDS, and other illnesses. This statue is made of long-lasting resin and stands 6-1/4 inches high.
