This striking Saint Benedict Crucifix is silver-plated metal inlaid with black enamel. The Corpus is silver plate and a scroll reading INRI is attached at the top of the cross. A Saint Benedict medal sits at the center of the cross. It shows the reverse side of the Saint Benedict medal where the prominent feature is a cross. Among the many details on the medal, the cross has the letters CSSMLNDSMD. They are the first letters for the words in a rhythmic Latin prayer. "Crux sacra sit mini lux! Nunquam draco sit mihi due." It translates to, "May the holy cross be my light! May the dragon never be my guide!" This crucifix measures eight inches by four inches and is one of our Italian imports.
